CD Changer Wiring Harness Help

I've been wanting to hook up a laptop to the cd changer wiring harness behind the left rear speaker. But I cant seem to figure out how the wires communicate to the steering wheel controls. I would appreciate it if someone can help me figure out what the protocol is between the wires and the steering wheel controls. Or in other words how the cd changer is controlled by play, mute, next, previous, etc. buttons of the steering wheel?

The steering wheel controls, head unit and the cd changer are connected together. If you use an aftermarket cd player the wheel controls wont work unless you get the harness for it. Dont know how to wire them together.sorry hopefully this will help a little.

Changer is a seperate harness then the radio and steering wheel controls. Its the smaller harness on the back of the radio. Radio controls are only one wire in the back of the radio. The cd changer is not controlled directly thru the steering wheel controls. The steering wheel controls operate the radio which then sends a signal to the changer. Unlike other brands of changers where you can ground or send power to one wire to mimic the changer being there...Delco changers use a serial communication to let the radio know its present. You cant easily tap a signal for an aux device such as a laptop. There supposedly is an adaptor for $80 that allows you do to it but its unlear if you still have to have the factory changer...in which case you could do it using 2 relays and not need the adaptor.

Has anyone tried to work around this? Any electronic experts ? Is there an alternative to dishing out the $70 for the adapter. I found the prong for the Delco changer, it has Orange 12V, Blk ground, Blue 10V and 3 wires for audio signal. How could I make the head unit think the changer is connected and then just tap the audio wires?????? I need a audio guru.!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys.
