Need Major HELP WITH AMP Install PLEASE This is the first time that I have ever did this.Im using the stock Monsoon Cd Player I have the RCA Converter it has 5 wires white white with black stripe grey grey with blck stripe and a black wire.Where do I hook this up to? The power wire and ground is hooked up but the power light on the sony 1200 watt amp is not coming on.I really need all the help I can get so please feel free to write anything you know or e-mail me at ronnie@3gcom.com

Re: Need Major HELP WITH AMP Install PLEASE Your amp should have three wires hooked up to it, a Black (ground) a red, (+12V power) and blue, (Remote turn-on from deck, +12V) Since you didn't say anything about the remote wire, this leads me to believe you don't have it hooked up. hook it up to a +12V source that turns on when your car is on. The best way to do this is to use a multimeter. (borrow one, or get the little fold-up one from Radio Shack for about $25) and find a +12 source that turns on when the key is on in the ignition, both with CD and radio playing. This will turn the amp on via the remote wire when the radio/car is turned on. Also, as far as you other amp connections, the black wire should be at least 10 Gauge, and connected with a ring terminal to the closest solid piece of steel of the body or frame of the car for your ground. The red wire should be the same gauge as your ground wire, and hooked up to the + terminal on your battery with a fuse the same size as the one on the amp within one foot of the connection to the battery.
