Default 2000 Firehawk - No Crank

Ok guys, im working on a 2000 TransAm Firehawk. What we
have here is a no crank situation. I have checked all fuses
and relays and they are good, or have been swapped with
known good parts. One thing i noticed was that when the key
is inserted into the ignition, and the key turned to the ON
position, the security light in the cluster will continue
to blink. When you try to crank, the dash lights go out
(normal), but nothing happens, no crank, or activity from
the relays. I have swapped out the started with a known
good starter we had in the shop, still nothing. I have
checked all connections and wiring to the starter, and
everything appears to be fine. Because of the security
light blinking, im thinking its a theft deterent issue, we
checked the resistance in the key, and the chip has
resitance. I left the shop and went home to check the other
set of keys, and they have the same resitance. And thats
where i sit... Any ideas??? Thanks. Please email replied to
RTCamaroSS@aol.com in addition to the forum. Thank you!

Firt off I feel for you, there are a million things to trace down there. Perhaps trying the old disconnect the battery for a few minutes might work. If it's a computer error, or alarm brain error, that will reset everything, and at least rule out computer/brain problems. It's not a soloution but maybe a start. Good Luck!

Just had a another thought. I have heard of other guys having a problem with the reader in the steering column for the key diode. It's a slight chance but, who knows.
