12'' stealth boxes?

12'' stealth boxes? anyone know who custom builds these?i already own 3 12" L7'S and would hate to buy 10"s.anyone out there have these or makes or know who can make these?i know its possible a guy locally has them but wont tell who built them(what a *****).

Re: 12'' stealth boxes? sounds like a real *****! I don't know of any prefab boxes for what your looking for. Either way, you can build one urself with wood and fiberglass. I would call the local stereo shop and ask them for a quote, if it's too high, go to the stereo shop go back to the install bays, give the installer a hard luck I'm broke kind of story, and get him to give you tips. good luck.

Re: 12'' stealth boxes? ya that i might have to do.or modify the sail and drop in some eights but the stealth boxes are so convienant.any idea how thick id have to go with the fiberglass?by the way his car slammed!!!!!!i had 6 12"L 7'S IN A CUSTOM BOX in a dodge daytona powered by three fosgate power 800's wired for 2ohm(1600 watts rms each!)and it knock out your fillings!his didnt rip through you but it was loud!
Re: 12'' stealth boxes? believe me, it wouldn't be worth it to try to build sealed enclosures behind the sail panels. In my ta I have quart 8"s in the sail panels. I had to cut the factory sheet metal, but the sail panels have been left unmodified for a cleaner look. I have a ten in a little prefab box I had a jl audio w7, but replaced it with a power acoustic 10, I know it sounds crazy to pull out a jl w7 for that speaker, but it can truly handle 1500 watts of power, and plays louder than the jl. Antoher secret to the 10 being decently loud is that it uses the rear well, (ttop area) as a bandpass enclosure. If you are going to try to make your own. The glass only need be just shy of 1/16 inch with proper internal bracing, although the face should be made out of mdf. If you have to have more ditch the spare tire, cut up the plastic panel on the rear passenger side. Cover the hole with some high denstity speaker cloth, and build the biggest ugliest thing you can behind that panel, it will be out of sight so who cares how ugly it is. You could get a couple of 12.s back there. And if you get a flat, make sure you have a cell phone. I took my spare tire out, and haven't lived to regret it yet.
