Steering wheel controls install Does anyone have any pointers before I start on installing the harness that allows steering wheel controls on an aftermarket head unit. I have the harness but figure somebody knows something that will make the process easier. Thanks! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
Re: Steering wheel controls install assuming its the pac piece, the install is simple. Splice 3 wires to the harness of your aftermarket deck, (power, ground, and SWC signal)
(find an extra pin for your harness so you dont have to splicing any stock wires to tap into the SWC signal wire.
(I only used one of the 2 orange wires in my harness, so i pulled the extra pin out, and moved it to where the SWC signal wire needed to be)
I just placed my IR led between the console and the dash, above where my TCS switch is.
It faces the back window, but as long as somebody is in the car, it works perfect, and is not visible at all when your in the car.
