Default programming radio to steering wheel controls

any guide available that shows how you program buttons to an aftermarket cd player, i read a sticky about it saying that it could be done and was curious if there was a write up...

You need an adapter like the PAC SWI-X so that your steering wheel controls can control your aftermarket head unit using its infrared remote capability. Setup instructions come with the adapter. There is no way to just program an aftermarket HU to work without using an adapter.

Also, the PAC SWI-X is the universal IR unit. Depending on the headunit you bought, you might be able to use one of PAC's other SWI-? units which are hard-wired.
