5 Channel Amp Question Hi Guys, I have an Alpine v12 Amp (mrv-357 ).
The front channels and rears are driving MB Quardts.
Since I have 150 watts for the sub channel, can you PLEASE recommend a sub that will work well with that power, it is going in a subthump box located in the spare tire position in a convertible camaro.

My installer is recommending Phoenix Gold, but I think that is because he sells it.
Alpine R ? or S ?
I think I have .75ish ft of airspace.
Looking to spend under $150 on the sub.

Re: 5 Channel Amp Question My vote is for JL, Alpine R or MTX. I'm sure your amp is rated for 150 @ 4 ohm, so you could probably get 300 x 1 @ 2 ohm. You could go with a dual 4ohm woofer to get to a 2ohm load and I'm sure you'd get plenty of power from the amp. You might even be able to find a really inexpensive used HX2 or something like that from Rockford fosgate. I'm sure you can step up in to higher than low end sub for $150 if you're shopping around for it.

Re: 5 Channel Amp Question I'm running some MTX subs and am pretty disappointed with them. I have an all Alpine system (except for subs). These V series amps were designed for use with the Alpine R's, I've heard them and was impressed with the crisp clear bass response. I'm going to buy these when I get my new box. Don't know why I didn't get these in the first place <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

Re: 5 Channel Amp Question I'm running a JL 10" in a staelth box in the side of the trunk compartment, my buddy justin is running the exact same thing. his sounds really great, mine sounds good but my POS amp isnt up to the job. i need a 5 channel Phoenix titanium :\
