Default PAC SWI-X install locations

I did some searches and there was only one thread which had a short list of install locations on the best places to put the IR head on this adapter. Feel free to chime in with locations that have / have not worked for you and pictures!!!

Yep, that where i place my IR transmitter. Its a nice spot to install it. The only problem is that when im in 5th gear it doesnt work. The shifter blocks the signal. Every other gear is fine.

Mines in the same place, on the cup holder curve. I think it is a fine location but I have less flexibility being in a vert. I would have preferred to mount it high up somewhere where passenger's arms (or *****) couldn't block it, and my head unit stuck out to far to pick up a vent mount.

But as it is - was simple and works fine.

I do recommend you glue the emitter into the housing, and put a little glue on the housing to your console (backside). People who rest their arm there will push the emitter back down through if you don't glue it, pita.

for those of you who mounted them in the cup holder curve, if you have an M6, does it get in the way when you shift?

when I has the SWI-X (now have the SWI-PS) I placed my transmitter in the mounting kit right above the head unit on the upper left hand side. Worked great all the while I had it....used it with a 940MP HU
