Hooking up AMP and Sub, Need Help Ok. I have an audiobahn sub, 300 watts rms max, 2 or 8 ohm. i have the digital mrd m300 alpine amp. everythig on my trans am (radio wise) is stock, its the monsoon system, 1999. To hook up the system i have the basic power set, some rcas, and a pac (adjustable line output coverter). i want to hook my remote wire up to the power button of the radio, inline with a switch so i can have the system off if i want, but stil have the radio one. what i need to know is where do i hook up the PAC thing, what fuses do i need other than the main positive lead, and someone mentioned ot me that i can blow some of my other speakers by using the pac? i dunno much about car audio, the nly reason i am doin this is cuz i won the sub at a car show and got the amp reeeeeaaaal cheap. Re: Hooking up AMP and Sub, Need Help Where the PAC adapter goes would depend on where you get the signal for it. You can get it behind the radio, but tesing for the speaker leads can be a PITA, and you'll need longer RCA's. I put mine under the passenger side rear hatch panel, just behind the rear seat speakers-where I got the signal. From there it's a short trip to the back, where I assume your putting your amp. I still say to get the remote from the power antenna lead, it's right by the amp, easy to identify, and you can still put a switch in if you want. I'll even go take a look and see what color it is if you want. A good rule of thumb is to put a fuse on any power wire that you put in that did not come on the car. And I've never heard of a properly installed PAC blowing speakers. About the PAC setup: should I just go ahead and attach the additional wires right at the leads? As in, just sotter the ends along with the existing ones?
