Steering wheel sound system controls I have a 93 with a Sony system installed by the previous owner. The steering wheel controls don't work for the stereo. Is this because there is no way to hook the controls up to an aftermarket system? Or did the installer just botch the job?
I want to install an MP3 friendly system and I want the steering controls to work. Is this possible?

Check out the FAQ sticky at the top of the forum for information about the PAC SWI-X which lets you use the steering wheel controls for almost any aftermarket head unit that has an infrared remote.
Does PAC make a wired version?
If so then you may have to contact PAC and give them your radio model number and see if their device will work with it. I would also contact Sony and ask if there is a device to make your wheel buttons work.

Yes PAC does make wired versions....thats what I said in my previous post. The headunit in question must support a wired remote for it to work.
