89 Pass Key System???????

Default 89 Pass Key System???????

got an 89 TA its got a pass key system on it, i believe its part of the security system. the problem is the car will not start. everything checks out ok. batt. good, starter good, nuetral saftey switch good. its got power to everything, just will not start. question does anyone know how to bypass this system and where it is located. thanks guys. any help on this would be great.

Replace the lock cylinder and have the new key correctly coded to the pellet in the old key.

i found that i can buy the new lock cylinder at autozone or local auto parts store. but how do i get it the pellet coded the same as whats in the old key. thanks

You can measure the resistance across the VATS "chip" in your key with a multimeter, then solder in a resistor of equal value across the wires that go to the lock cylinder.
