Harlan shift light and unhooking battery
Harlan shift light and unhooking battery My light still lights up at start. I pulled the battery though to do something. It wont come on when it is time to shift. Does it lose its programming when you pull the power. Im gonna try to reprogram it anyways but I dont have time right now so I thought Id ask. Thanks.
Well I have only seen mine come on once ever... It was in the car when I bought it and it was set to 6600 rpm. My car is a 408 and I'm not comfortable revving it that high. So today I go to reset it, and do so at 6100 rpm. I get all the visual confirmations that I have done everything correctly, but nothing happens when I hit my shift point. I've heard that it needs to be set to 4-cyl mode as well... is this true? If so, that is my problem, as I have it in 8-cyl mode. Any help would be appreciated. I may have to check the wiring soon as well, if I can't figure anything else out.
Thank you 01 Red WS6... Now could someone provide me with the DIP switch 4-cyl settings. I don't have instructions or anything. I went by Install University's how-to and they set their's to 8-cyl, but they do not show the 4-cyl DIP settings. Hopefully this will cure my problem.

Mine has never lost its settings and I've had the battery disconnected many times.
Here's a few pics (scanners not working) of my directions that came with the light. The 4 cyl dip settings are in the 2nd to last pic.
