Stock charging system limits I am getting ready to install a system in my car and had a question concerning the stock charging system.
How much can the stock charging system handle?
I will be using this amp Kicker ZX700.5
I also have a underdrive pulley installed.
I thought about installing a better battery (Optima Yellow or Red top). But i am worried that the alternator will not keep the sucker charged.
Do you think I will need a upgraded alt or overdrive pulley on the stock unit? I know all cars are different just trolling for some opinions.

I think you'll be ok. My amp arrangement is roughly similar in terms of max rms output power (~925watts between the 2 amps). I have a stock alternator and have had no issues. No lights dimming at night either.
I would wait until you get everything installed then determine if you need to upgrade your alternator or not.
A higher capacity battery would be helpful if you like to listen to your stereo at length with the car off. With the car on, the alternator makes the difference.
