Default Monsoon Sound System Problems

I just picked up a 2000 SS Camaro. The front speakers make a crackling noise when the volume is turned up to a reasonable level. I replaced the stock speakers with some Sonys, and they are still making the noise... Loose connection or short somewhere maybe??? Anyone else have this problem??

this may sound stupid but

make sure your antenna is connected in the back behind the replacent wheel. Trunk passengers side. Same thing happened to me i bought a firebird and it was the antenna not connected. So i replaced my antenna w/ a stock one @ $20.00

if its not that you could have a car audio shop near you take a look at it. Maybe you have a looses wire poorly connected

i found out some more info. the sound system in these cars can handle up to 500 watts of power stock. The problem with this is that the speakers in the car cannot causing them to blow easily nd get bad quality of audio. i reccomend buying some performance speakers through crutchfiled.com.

If you really want help here post a link to a sound clip of what you are describing. We can help you then, or at least point you in the right direction.
