Did you purchase the rear-view camera with the unit? I believe the purple wire is only if you have the camera hooked in. So if you don't have it, i wouldn't worry about it. But do your research. I just purchased the AVIC-Z1, but i didn't install it, myself. And I'm sure you'll want to look into getting a PAC SWI-PS for your steering wheel controls to work again, i haven't gotten one yet but I will. For more info on that, goto PAC-AUDIO. Good Luck.

Show us some pics of your mold, or is it an in-dash fold out version? Here's mine...

That looks pretty sweet, ya gotta love it!

I just noticed, but you have a lot of toggle switches...care to elaborate?

The reverse wire needs to be hooked up so the gps can tell if the car is going forward or backward. And the pink one needs to go to the vss wire in the stock radio harness for speed compensated volume (camaro's only) DARK GREEN w/WHITE - vehicle speed sensor input for automatic volume

I haven't hooked mine up in the camaro yet but from what i've seen without the vss wire
the speedo won't work on the display (obviously) and the gps won't function properly w/out it.The wire is listed in this thread #16 (https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....1&postcount=10) for the speed compensated volume (vss wire) just splice it and hook it up to the pink wire on the pioneer.
