Signal Light Socket Change - out 
I have no idea how water got into the sockets of the amber/signal lights up front since it's supposed to be protected by the stuff underneath but upon inspection both of the sockets are corroded rendering me looking like an azzhole that doesnt use his signals when turning at stop lights etc (sorry for run-on sentence). I know it's most likely by going over deep water (hey, I'm in Houston where water drain-off is as slow as waiting for them to fix pot-holes, but that's another thread/story). My question is, what can I do to get this "important feature" of my car to work again? Is there cutting and splicing involved or is it like a lamp socket attached to something else about a foot away? I havent really had time to look way under there and figured maybe some of you have had this problem too.

It will involve cutting and splicing even if you buy the over-priced GM sockets from the dealer. There are only three wires involved so it's not a difficult job. You can get replacement sockets at NAPA, Advance Auto, and probably other auto parts stores. They're a universal GM 3157 type socket available in straight or right-angle (it doesn't matter which one you get for the front - it makes a big difference in the back).
You may have to be patient with the counter guy. When I went to buy one at Pep Boys recently, the guy went to the tool section when I asked for a light socket. Maybe he thought I didn't want a heavy socket.
