Default The Monsoon System

well, i've had 2 camaro's with the monsoon systems and for some reason the speakers just don't hold up for nothin!! in my current camaro, my 2000 SS i've replaced all my speakers some i've replaced twice! is there any other reason these go out so often other than blasting the stereo?

Well, they're not the greatest quality speakers in the first place (paper cones, etc.), the head unit puts out a lot of distortion, and the amp starts clipping at higher volumes so it's a combinatrion of factors. But blasting the Monsoon stereo is a sure way to kill the speakers in a hurry. Used at more reasonable volumes the speakers will last a fairly long time (so will your hearing).

If you're running a sub put bass blockers on them. Cut the bass out of them and you should never have a problem again.

If you gotta replace them go aftermarket. There's no reason not to and if you're running a sub aftermarkets do so much better of a job with treble and midrange... it's huge. They just don't help the bass much (which is why people complain). You got a sub so go aftermarket all the way.
