keep theftlock radio from locking? I have to change the battery tonight in my car and I am trying to think of a way to keep power so I don't lose my radio since I don't have the code. I bought a thing that goes into the lighter socket and has a 9V battery that is suppose to retain the settings. It only cost 5.00 so I don't know if it works. For some reason on the box it says to read the owners manual about disconnecting/connecting battery and not setting off the airbags. Okay now I am scared of that.

Comes from the factory not set, but if it has been set you can get around it from what I have heard

I've seen those things advertised, never tried one though. Not hard to get the code if it locks. Don't worry about the air bags going off using it, or when disconnecting/connecting the battery. It's probably a universal tool for all makes/models/years and the warning is to cover their behind.
Well the thing I bought worked. I didn't lose any of my settings but the radio theftlock is not on now. The light does not flash so I have to reset it with my own code I guess.
