High pitched ring
High pitched ring So I got a sound system installed about 6 months ago. Head unit/sub/speakers/amps/all new wiring. One problem I am having with it is it has a high pitch rining noise only when it is cold out side. During the summer I never have this problem, but now it is getting colder outside. When I first start up my car in the mornings or late at night when it cools off, the stereo has a high pitch ring to it that goes away after a few minutes of driving. It doesnt do it if I start my car up during the day when it is warmer out. Any ideas? The stereo shop wants to keep it over night to fix it, and it seems like it might be an easy fix, so I'd like to try and fix it myself before handing my car over to someone for the night. Thanks.

a ringing noise sounds to my like you might have a bad ground or even you can get one too from your ground being to close to your power wire. But its weird that it only does it when it is cold.

I dont know the specifics such as model numbers, but I have a rockford fosgate sub amp with an infity 12" sub and a JL Audio speaker amp with TMR? Total speakers. I dont know gauge either but it is pretty big. I could get some pics of everything when I get back from vegas on monday. However, the ringing goes away after playing my music pretty loud for a few minutes. I just find it strange that it only does it on cold days. Thanks for the help.

I dont see why that would a problem. It doesnt get much below 50 at night so its not like its freezing out.
