humount wiring
humount wiring hey.. i just got my humount in the mail and it looks sweet...
how did u guys wire it up... did u do it in series, or did u just bunch all the reds together and then all the blacks together....
im just wanting to know what works best so that way one i install it i know what to do...
installation is going to have to wait till i get all my parts for operation (cant think of a catchy name at the moment but will)
also anybody have one with a flip out monitor... the hu is going to sit further back and i dont know if one will clear the dash...

Why not just follow the instructions they provide?
HU Flush Mount Assembly

1. What is included in the illuminated HU mounting kit.
2. Push the lamp holders into the bulb openings in the backing plate. (A screwdriver works good for pushing them into the holes.)
3. Install the mini lamps into the lamp holders and use a spot of hot glue to secure the bulbs so they will not vibrate out.
4. The bulbs should look like this when they are installed. Attach all the red wires together and attach all the black wires together.
5. Install the red lens into the lamp pocket.
6.Slide the HU all the way into the backing plate.
7. Install the two gel lens to the recessed area behind the lettering on the faceplate and use a couple of pieces of tape to temporarily hold the gel lens in place until the faceplate is installed
8. You will need to trim the plastic tab behind where the factory HU rested so that your HU will slide back far enough.
9. Attach all of the red wires to the dimmer wire in the HU wiring harness and attach the black wires to a ground.
10. Connect all of your wiring for the HU. Using the factory bolts loosely attach the faceplate and backing plate to the factory bolt hole location. Align the faceplate so that the HU is centered in the HU opening in the faceplate and the mount sits centered in the dash opening and tighten the bolts. Reassemble the rest of you dash.
