TCS Switch Module in 96 LT1 to simple LS1 Rocker Switch? As of right now I'm working a small project to refurbish my lower console. I'm aware that the LSx cars that have traction control have a factory TC rocker switch, which sort of implies the whole Traction Control module, the big bulky assembly with a single half inch pushbutton, in my 1996 LT1 is, by later standards, uneccessary.
I'd really like to do a mod where I can change the module in my console to a rocker which could be more easily relocated. Are there any write ups or diagrams or pin outs for this procedure, or should I just start tracing wires and researching Haynes?

The TCS rocker switch in an LS1 is a momentary switch not a normal on/off rocker. It provides a momentary signal to the Electronic Brake Control Module (the ABS system) which then controls the PCM and the Accelerator And Servo Control Module.
I think you would find that there is a lot more involved than just swapping the switch.

I'm working on the "more involved" permutation now. I'm replacing the 93-97 TCS switchbox with a single momentary switch from Radio Shack. In the TCS switchbox opening, in the console, I'm molding a new faceplate and installing either more switches or a custom LED arrangement as my LT1's theme is 'Knight' inspired.
I've also developed a method of fabricating complex switch bezels for any size or shape of switch designed for any size opening. The process utilizes acrylic molding with dams and temporary obstructions to control acrylic flow. The result is a sturdy nigh unbreakable and ultimately paintable switch bezel. The process is easy and something everyone could do themselves with some 2mm craft foam, some modeling clay for the dam walls, and a bit of binary acrylic or even polyester resin poured while it's still thin.
I'll post a write up as I complete the process, should any of you be interested.
