im looking into gettin a sub im gettin a sub and i want some advice.. I want to keep my stock speakers for now, but what kind of amp should I buy and what 10" sub will give me the bang i want. I am also not looking to replace my alternator. any ideas?
The Alpine Type-S is an excellent speaker that doesn't break the bank. I am using 2 of them and they sound really good. They work well in smaller enclousures like the stealthbox. The 10's are rated at 300 Watt RMS and they come in either 2 ohm or 4 ohm dual voice coils. Since you are wanting just one, get the dual 4 ohm version. I believe the part number is SWS-1042D. As for an amp, a small class D amp will work. The Alpine MRP-M450 will work well with this sub. The amp puts out 400 Watts RMS x 1 @ 2ohm.

I am very happy with my elemental designs 11ov in the subthump box. I was very suprised by it considering the amount of airspace it is in. It definitely exceeded my expectations of what it would be.
Anything Alpine will exceed your expectations. Type E and S are great, especially in a stealthbox. Type R is pure magic, if youve got the $. Kenwood is a good company to look at for an amp. I have a Ken\/\/ood KAC-9152D, and it maxes out at 1800watts. that may be too much for S and E types (unless ohms are well thought out) just think about what kind of music you listen to the most and what your budget is.
