Default Upgrading stereo system.

Look to upgrade my stereo system... not looking for rediculous and don't want to add too much weight. I'm looking for something that I can crank up and have a very crisp, clean sound as well as good bass.

I just need some ideas as far as amps, speakers, subs, headunit, tweeters etc. I know nothing about this stuff.

I have a friend that can do all that electrical work but i'd rather get the reccomendation for components from someone with some real experience. I'm trying not to spend too much money. I just want some ideas.

Also, aside from subframe connectors, what can i do to get rid of some rattles in the interior?

I am using:

Alpine CDA-9835 Headunit
Alpine SPR-17LS 6.5" 2-Way Components
Alpine SWS-1042D 10" Subs (2)
MTX 6500D 610x1 Monoblock Amp
MTX 4202 50x2 Amp
Subthump Enclousres
Subthump Extended Amp Rack
SShevy Tweeter Pods

This is very clean and loud.

An actual price is helpful when setting your budget...willing to go over $1000? $1500? $2000?

Also depends on where you want to buy your stuff from, and if you want to run stuff your friends will recognize, or stuff they'll never have heard of that'll sound exponentially better.

I'd do something like this.

Alpine 9833 or 9835 deck
RE XXX, eD eDi, or Alpine Type R components
MTX TC4202, Orion HP-2500, or Phoenix Gold RSd 250.2 component amp
Adire Audio Koda 10", Alpine Type R 10", or JL W3v3
MTX TC3001 or TC4001 depending on subwoofer choice

Order the wiring kit from KnuKonceptz. Depending on what, and where, you buy, that should keep you in the rough area of $1000, give or take about $200, assuming self-install. Not a bad setup; it'll be clean, get loud enough, and have quality component parts. With the removal of the stock system, you should only be adding, at most, 15-30lbs to the car, depending on box size and material type.
