Default Rewiring Line Lock For Correct Setup!!!

Ok im rewiring my line lock setup because it is designed from the factory (slp) where its activated by a ground switch this is not to safe if you stop and think about it! Im planning on rewiring it on running a wire from the drivers side pos connection on the fender, then fuse it then on thru the firewall to a master switch then to a 2nd push button switch to activate it then back out to the solenoid then of course I can run the other terminal (ground) to the fender ground bolt my question is 18 awg wire good for this application? Im looking at roughly maybe 7-13 feet maybe even 10 feet atthe most, the wire im going to run ( got from work) is cmr/cl3r 18awg c ( its bascially 2 wires shielded into one total covered grey wire ) anybody know before i go about doing this??? so for that matter has anybody redone their slp solenoid wiring the correct way.......let me know and thanks for any help

Why would you say a grounding switch is dangerous?

Current actually flows from - to +. SO, how is the way it's wired now dangerous?

Don't mess with it. It'll work fine and keep working fine as it is.

If the setup is wired to where the positive is connected on the solenoid and always on.....the switch activates the ground inside the car this is how it comes from slp .....that is dangerous because what if it shorts going down the road and locks the front brakes up??? the way i want to wire it the ground is always on and the positive has a switch to activate it .......
