Default People who have disabled VATS. Come in here.

Got a question. Got my VATS disabled to get my car fixed, and decided I wanted to go get another key made with out the chip in it. I went up to an Ace Hardware, and they had trouble finding a Blank key to match up to mine. I had them take their best guess and make one, but it did not even fit into the igniton lock. So my question is, people who have had keys made without chips, what "blank" did they use in order to have them made?

I work at Lowes and we don't even carry blanks for vehicles that come standard with chipped keys. We're forced to refer customers to their dealership

i think the pre vats keys like the ones from the 80's fit in to the ingition so get a key blank for a like 82 trans amand have them cut the key from the orginal chipped key.

i am pretty sure the non chipped keys are the same, but a chipped key from a locksmith is like 12 bucks i just had one made.
