Stock Monsoon question
Stock Monsoon question Ok I have 2000 firehawk and it came with a 12 disc changer, and I was wondering if all the monsoon head units were equipped to handle this becuase I need to replace mine. It keeps giving me an error message like e20 or e23 and wont play a cd, Ive cleaned it and it was a short fix but now it wont play any cds even after it gets cleaned. So I was just wondering if all monsoon head units can handle the 12 disc that came with the car.
yes they do.
I had the same problem..went to a junk yard got a cd player out of a 02 Olds Aurora(completely diff. design) Ripped the guts out and JBwelded them in my monsoon...it now works absolutely FLAWLESS now. i got the player for 30 bucks.
Never had a code again.

No they don't. All cassette head units can connect to the external CD changer but only CD head units from late 99 and newer models will work. It's nearly impossible to tell if a 99 CD head unit will work without taking it apart so stick with 2000 or newer to be safe.
