Help me finalize my system! :)
same goes for the wire. most brands get their wire from the same source anyways. dont pay for the name (like i did) just get the right gauge. people might say that 1/0 is overkill, but i say you can never go too large on wire size. as long as you dont mind the extra weight, cost, and bulges in the carpet, its cool. youll have a line of power for future expansion as well.
if you do the big 3 you shouldnt need a cap either. if i recall correctly thats a digital amp, but its not regulated. with an unregulated amp you might notice the bass loosing its steam (punchyness) as your drive continues. thats the only case in which a cap will help. if your headlights dim then you need to do the big 3, and then alternator if need be.
Sounds good Hat, thanks.
If you purchased two of the SWR-1022 subwoofers, they are dual voice coil each coil being two ohms. What we want is the amplifier to "see" two ohms to obtain maximum power output of the amplifier by wiring them in series-parallel. So what you need to do is wire both of the voicecoils on each sub together in parallel (+ to + with a piece of wire, and - to - with another.) With both voicecoils on each sub wired like this, you now effectively have a pair of one ohm subwoofers. Now wire each subwoofer to the amplifier in series (+ of woofer A to amp, - of woofer A to the + wire of woofer B. Then - of woofer B to the - connection on the amplifier.) By wiring two one ohm loads in series the amplifier will "see" two ohms. Had you bought the single 4 ohm voicecoil subs, all you would of had to do is wire everything in paralell.

Edit: Or would it be like this diagram, if we substitued the 2nd set of speakers for the 2nd VC?

The sub amp is on its way. Just need the wiring and the head unit. I may have to go the LOC route and run the system through the stock monsoon hu for a month or 2.
