Help!! Power windows wont budge!!
Both my PWs on my 02 Z were fine, never any slowness, never hesitated. The other day it was nice out so I tried to put down the windows: Nothing. They are locked in the up position thank god.
I checked the fuse box and switched the 2 metal 30 amp (fuse)BRK boxes, and nothing. Neither switch with work, neither window will go down... Or up!
I dont know exactly what caused this, So I dont know what to do. Ive been smelling a funny adicic or somewhat toxic odor coming from the AC when I put it on vent, But I hope to god it isnt burning wires.
What can I do??
I noticed when i hit the door a few times it helps it out if it ever does get stuck though.. The worst thing that could be is to replace the window motor.. which is like $20-30
As for what to do...do you have a multimeter?
If the windows still won't work then use a multimeter or even a test light to check that you get power at the fuse/circuit breaker. It is fed by the RAP circuit from the BCM so you could have a faulty BCM although you would likely notice other symptoms like the radio not staying on after turning off the ignition.
There are numerous diagnostic tests you can do with a meter or test light so let us know what you find after trying a new fuse.
