I know people that hit 150+ with two Type R's FYI but you cant possibly get high numbers in a .6 airspace of an enclosure. You tell me a w3 gets louder than a type R i call you a lying bastard.

Oh and FYI Type X is a SQL sub. . . just like a w6. and a w6 is a better SQ sub then the w7. The w7 will get louder but the w6 will sound better. yes of course in the proper enclosure. and yes you are correct about DD> I own two 3510's. BUT a W3 is NOT louder than a Type R.

Haha...i hate JL so youll never hear me say that

I know someone that hit 150s with 1 10in Type R and 2500watts...doesnt mean its a spl sub.
As i said its all in the build..that said number peaked at 43hz..which isnt where normal SPL boxes peak at(60-70hz)

And no .6 isnt goin to net u big numbers...actually the w3 might be better choice in that application imho.

Just to throw out there...i have a 15" Type R in a 3.5cuft tuned to 32hz and on my Termlab can get a 145.4@37hz with 2000watts...which is pretty decent for a daily driving box....

Actually the w6v2 is more of a SPL sub...this coming from a JL rep himself...than a W7.
The w7..just like Type R..is more of a daily pounder that can get loud as an end result.

Nice choice of subs...DDs shall be my next sub...but 9510 ....

You tuned it correctly since that is your Daily Driver. Many people make a mistake and tune high for a Daily Driver and thats a No No. I have yet to create a box for my 3510's. I am contemplating to sell them and get me 1 12" 9512 or 9112, not too sure yet.

Yehh actually its tuned to 32hz.....just peaks at 37hz for SPL...which isnt that good as spl likes higher freq...but for daily driver it is perfect for what i listen to.

Most prefab boxes are tuned wayyyy to high they make me sick when its sooo much easier to just build a normal ported enclosure.

The 3510s are realll nice...i would be goin with them if i wasnt looking for more a SPL setup with a slight daily driver aspect.
Theres a guy doin 154s with 2 3510s in his CRX on music around here...nuts.

Good luck on the build make sure to take pics

Tuan hit the mid 150's at the db drag in october. Brought home a huge trophy, taller than Tuan himself. Good Stuff. Small world after all!

you may want to check your facts before you start bragging about how much you know about car audio. I won't get into your other points, but I'll bet the title to my Firehawk, and every last piece of gear in it that JL Audio and Infinity Systems have absolutely no affiliation with each other.

won't say the w3 is louder per say, but I have hit 148db with 2 10" JL W3's in .6 cu ft stealth boxes in my wife's old camaro.

granted, this was on the old style audio control mics, so it would not have hit that on a term pro or similar sensor mic.

System consited of dual 10" w3's, each with a cfa-1000D wired for 1 ohm mono to deliver 1000 watts each. You could only blast it for about 10 seconds at a time, or else it would start to smell .

You just voided your warranty sir

hahaha....feeding my R (750rms) 2000watts so we're in the same boat..but mines doesnt smell to about 4-5 songs full tilt..as long as its clean power(not clipping signal) most subs can take a good amount over there rms...if ur willing to push the limits

that system is long gone, not worried about the warranty anymore.. but it was built specificly to compete in stock 2 10" sub spl classes, while still sounding decent enough for daily listening.

we had a remote gain *** installed. with the level down to about 25%, it blended in very well with the front stage, just a tad on the boomy side due to the small enclosures, but probably right in line with what most guys like as far as bass goes. It's not like the amps deliver 1000 watts all of the time. Infact, we only had it full tilt at 2 local competitions, and a few times at parking lot events. And to clarify, that 10 seconds was with a 55 hz sine wave, not music. Playing regular music, I'm sure if could have gone a good bit longer.

I see, with the wording of your comment, I thought you were perhaps pulling a Foose and confusing JBL with JL (since JBL and Infinity are indeed part of the same parent company).

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=295-460. I edited out the other drivers I had listed because I just modeled this and the IDQ. The Dayton absolutely beat the IDQ in frequency response, getting to 27Hz in a 1.25cuft box tuned to about 27Hz. IDQ hit about 31Hz in 1.25cuft tuned to 29Hz. Closed box in 1.25ft has Dayton winning 42Hz to IDQ's 52. Though really, I should have used smaller numbers, particularly for vented, considering that the vent takes room, but that would likely just have the Dayton win by a larger margin. I might rerun the numbers later.
