F-Body A/C Control Cable Extension
F-Body A/C Control Cable Extension Taking JasonWW idea and trying to take it to the next level. here is what i did.
i bought 4 factory cables, since they have the dual cable channel inside. i wanted to keep that so i cut up the new cables, taking the wire out.
below is the dual channel that runs the whole lenght of the inside of the cable. and the factory cable.
here are the parts i needed to do the job
the cut up cables
new 7x7 strand wire
7x7 connectors
an outer sheeth
expoy
mark the empty cable with a marker so you can make sure they line up properly.
here are all the cables lined up with a piece of sheething for each joint
grind down one of the connectors for the small end of the factory cable
run one side completely through from the small end, put the connector on then slide the other end through. Leave plenty of extra cable at the large end. crimp the connector on the small end, then put it back together.
with the cables all run, put your sheething over the joints and expoy them, make sure you dont get any expoy on the wires inside.
once the expoy is all dry tape it up. for added piece of mind.
one last step add two full size connectors on the large end. making sure the spring will have to expand abit to hold them in place.
