Default I had this weird idea..

I got this B-day card from my son, and long story short, when you open the card George Thurogood <sp?> "Bad to the Bone" starts playing, a nice clean digital rendition.. it works off a 3v DC battery..
This is my thought. I would like to pull the door open chime and install this unit.. I would need to install some resistors ? to drop the incoming voltage from 12v DC to 3v DC..anyone know what resistors I may need ? or where I can go to find this info ?
I just thought it would be funny to hear "Bad to the Bone" play when I opened the door instead of the ding ding ding I usually get..
As always any thoughts are welcome..

The chime is internal to the BCM and there are no publicly available circuit schematics for the BCM. The same chime is used for all alert functions (ignition key, door ajar, seat belt, etc.) so even if you figure out how to connect it, you would have the music for all those functions.

I think they probably realize that most people don't care to change it, and that there's no reason to spend money to make it customizable.

I guess thats possible, I was sorta thinking that it's either more cost effective to keep it in one central unit (ie BCM) ergo less components to manufacture, store, ship and install- as well as fail more so than any thought on the engineers part about who or if even someone would want to manufacture their own door chime. Or possibly the fact that said containment within the body control module keeps people from deleting it entirely. Never considered your point of view, altho I will contemplate that abit. My previous post was made with heavy satire not anger, altho being text it's somewhat hard to convey my meaning without tons of emoticons
