shift light
shift light does anyone know about how we have the shift light on the cluster ... i was wondering if there was any way that you could tap off of that to make a redline shift light .... if any one knows any thing about that please leave something here or send me a message

I assume you're talking about the skip shift light on the dash of V8 M6 cars. It is controlled by the powertrain control module (PCM) which sends a class 2 serial data signal to the instrument cluster when the engine is at normal operating temperature, the transmission is in first gear, the vehicle speed is 12-19 mph, and the throttle is open less than 35%. The instrument cluster responds by turning on the indicator light and a solenoid on the transmission activates to lockout second and third gears - forcing a first-to-fourth shift.
Since the indicator lamp is electronically activated by a data signal rather than just a 12V power source, it would be difficult if not impossible to use it for another purpose.

I guess in HP Tuners, there is some sort of "Shift Light" somewhere in there. But it's not feasible or there are some problems getting it to work. I would just stick to the aftermarket light tapped into the PCM.
