Default Door Switch HELP!!!!!!!!

My buddy just bought a 00 vert WS6 and the radio doesn't turn off when you open the driver door but it does when your open the passeger door. This really gets frustrating (sp?) because the radio plays for like what 8 minutes after you turn the key off. So if anyone can help please do so!!!!

My first guess is the harness (hidden under the passenger side along the door panel floor) has a loose wire. Best bet is to remove the passenger seat, passenger trim for the door frame and check the wiring harness for OBVIOUS damage. My two cents....WHITEBIRD???

The switch in the door could also be the problem. I think its built into the latch though.

Yes, the door switch is built-in to the door latch and is probably the cause of your problem. Fortunately, they often fail simply because they get gummed up with road grime. Spraying with a little contact cleaner (available at Radio Shack) and following up with some WD40 for waterproofing and lubrication will often solve the problem. Also, sometimes loosening the mounting bolts and adjust the latch a little will help.
