Radar Decetor Question?
Radar Decetor Question? Hey guys I was looking at getting the Escort Passport 8500 x50 but know nothing what so vere about these things lol. So all I want to know is can I just plug it into my lighter and put it on my windsheild and it will work? It doesn't need any kind of wiring or anything right? I just wanna buy it plug it in and be off. Thanks for your input and if this is a stupid question I'm sorry lol.

no wiring needed though a lot of people hardwire them because it looks a lot better. they come with a cord that plugs into your cig lighter. has a mute button on it too so you don't have to reach up to it to mute it.
I have one and it's a really good detector. I would recomend it. I also have it hardwired and it looks a lot better. Only takes like 10 minutes to do because you can buy a cord from Escort and there is a spot in the fuse box to plug it in. All you need to do is run the wire.

+1 for the 8500 X50. I love mine. I'm gonna give it a few weeks to get used to all the different kinds of alerts go'n off before I customize it to my preference.
