Audio setup??

Audio setup?? Lets cut to the chase I'm scraping the sh@tsoon system and I have no idea what to buy, I'm going to install myself because everywhere I go they want me to buy the top of the line crap, all I want is music to come out of the friken holes where the monsoon used to be. hahaha I dont want trunk rattling base with 22 in dubby dubs, I want plain good old rock and role and I want it to sound as good as or better than the monsoon system. So what Im asking is break it down to the speaker wire as to what I need to purchase and still stay under 500 to 600 at the most, or if theres a setup on here I cant really find anything in the search just all the high dollar installs. Thanks guys for your patience i know jack about audio but i can build a fast car hehehheehee
