Lightbulb Generic Relay question...

Is there any reason why I can't use the generic 30A SPDT relays (30/87/87a) to wire up my headlights, horn, rs headlight door motor, fuel pump, and fans when we swap the LS1 into the 67 Camaro? I hate the thought of paying $35 for a relay sold as a fuel pump relay when it appears to be the functional equivelent of a $4.00 generic unit. This could literally save me $200 on this project. Knowing that most of these circuits draw 10A or less, the 30A relays should work out great, and I can place them all very close to where they are needed, which should reduce voltage drops. Just wanted to know if anyone that has tried this approach found any gotchas. I do plan on using fusible link and/or circuit breakers depending on the app. (link for lights, c/b for headlight door motor...)
Thanks

No reason you couldn't use generic relays. The factory relays do the same thing - they're just designed to plug into a particular socket. If you're doing your own wiring then common Bosch-style 30A automotive relays will do the job fine.
