Default Question - (No retained accessory power)

Son has a 97 t/a with a problem. The car starts and runs, but we can't get any rap out of the dark blue wire from the bcm, that feeds the radio/windows, etc. First thought it was in the bcm so I swapped it out with another out of a 97z, being sure to match resistance to the z key. Still not getting power through the 2nd bcm, but the car still starts and runs. I've checked all of the power circuits feeding the bcm and have power everywhere I am supposed to. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing the bcm to kill the rap?

Does the circuit have power when the ignition is on but doesn't stay on when the ignition is shut off? In other words, it works like an ignition controlled circuit rather than RAP? If so then perhaps you have a bad door switch that is making the BCM shut down RAP thinking the door has been opened. Disconnect the gray with black wire and the black with white wire at the blue 32-pin connector on the BCM to test. There are several black with white wires in that connector - you want the one right next to the only gray with black wire. Those are the door switch signal wires. If you disconnect them, the BCM will assume the doors are closed.

Also, did you check the red wire in the black 6-pin connector at the BCM? That's the constant (battery) power that keeps the circuit active after the ignition is switched off.

No, the circuit has no power, even when the key is on. Yes, have power with the key on to the red, and brown of the six pin, just no power coming out of the blue to the radio and window fuses. I'm inclined to believe its the bcm, but can't believe 2 of them would be giving the same results.

Thanks for the input.
