Default Question about resistors?

k im about to swap my bulbs in my HU for LED's next week...my question is, the resistors i bought(15 680ohm 1/4 watt) are about 2in from top to bottom(lookin at the silver peg)...just wanderin if u guys cut to the size u need?...or just bend the hell outta it to get it to fit? b/c i have the write up http://www.xse.com/leres/ss/leds.html but it doesnt specify....and i was wanderin about the LED ananode and diode as well...thier so long and i was just confused on how all that is gonna fit w/o cuttin the size?....

You can cut the leads on a resistor or diode just like any wire. Leave enough to work with comfortably and also to make sure you don't cause heat damage when soldering.

...one other thing, i noticed u said diode....can u do that to the anode or should u leave it be?

...damnit i dont mean to be a pain in the ***...but i have been studyin that HU unit picture and it states that he put red wire over the anode side(+)...fine....but after reading i thought u had to put the resistor on the positive side ...according to those pictures, it looks like hes done the OPPOSITE!!!

Doesn't matter which side the resistor goes on. Only thing that matters is that you do not get the LED backwards, otherwise it won't light (but it won't damage anything)
