help choosing alpine HU
From what I hear the 9885 has 4 volt preouts where the 83 has 2 volt. The 85 has the new Biolight display but I think the display on the 83 looks better. Other than that the units have very similar features. The 85 is quite a bit more $. I think they're both very good. My buddy has the 83 in his truck and loves it. Oh, the 85 also comes with a remote while the 83 is remote ready, you just have to by it separate. I think it comes down to the display and the 4 volt preouts. I'm going to run 1 amp for a sub and I'm going with the 83, just because it has all the stuff I need and is cheaper.

Go to Crutchfield.com and you can compare the headunits and see what they have different side by side. The 9885 model is like a hundred dollars more and u might get the remote with it.....lol I just got the 9881 and it is no different than the 9883 and its 20 dollars more. One thing might be different......lol

well just ordered the 9885 off ebay. 226 shipped compared to the 170 for the 9883. i like the display way better on the 9885, so i said y not. 56 bucks more, not to bad.
