Default Battery Terminal Heating Up

OK, this is not an LSx vehicle but maybe someone can help. My wife's Mercury Villager minivan didn't want to start about a month ago. I found a lot of corrosion on the battery terminals. After a good cleaning, it worked fine until yesterday. I checked the battery again and there was a large amount of corrosion again!
I bought a brand new battery last night and it worked just fine until just now. It's doing the same thing again. The lights are flickering inside the van and it won't start. I opened the hood to make sure the battery cables were on tight and the positive terminal was very hot! The negative is fine.

ANY IDEAS? I need this fixed ASAP. The wife is going to have to drive the bird to work right now and that scares the hell out of me!

If its hot, there is a short or loose connection.
Check that battery connection for damage/corrosion/loose.

use baking soda in a diluted solution with water to take off the corrosion. Clean off all the area in and around the battery terminal. IF i were you, id buy new cables, terminals , and a battery. It sounds like your battery is starting to leak.

Sorry I haven't replied. Yes, I got the issue resolved. I had the starter taken off and tested but it turned out to be a simple loose connection on the alternator. I never looked at the obvious, simple solutions! Damn it!
