Electrical Situation Hi guys (and girls), I'm new to the forum. I own a 2002 Camaro SS and have owned it since it was new. Recently I've been running into some trouble. My battery just crapped out on me (original 5-yr batt., died at 50k miles) and I had to replace it. A few days after I replaced the battery the car has been acting funny. I was on the freeway a couple nights ago doing about 60, being conservative, and all of a sudden I lose everything electrical. The dash lights went out, headlights out, radio out. It also felt like I lost engine power and possibly power steering. It lasted for, literally, a second or two then everything clicked back on as if I had just started the car... only I was still doing 60 mph and didn't touch the key. I cleaned the terminals when I replaced the battery and just double-checked that the connections were fastened. I haven't had any other blackout problems since the new battery was installed besides this happening twice in one night. Also, I didn't have any warning signs leading up to this. The one symptom that keeps occurring, even this morning, is some sort of feedback through the speakers whether the radio is on or off. It gives off a winding up sound when I accelerate and vice versa. Does anyone have any comments, suggestions, troubleshoots, or any help at all regarding this problem? I hate the dealership service departments around here and would like to avoid that at all costs. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

i have the same trouble with my speakers in my 2000 TA. my car didnt lose power like yours though. i talked to the local speaker experts by me thinking it was something done wrong by me when i put a completely new system in. the one guy told me it was to do with my ground from the head unit to the cars ground, but after hearing this is happening to you too i have no idea what to think..... please help!
