2 Issues, alarm, and rear defroster.
2 Issues, alarm, and rear defroster. My after market alarm goes off at random time of night, never during the day it goes off. and when you sit in the car and check the light. it always indicates the shock sensor was triggered.. for no aparent reason. could the shock sensor be toast? or what
And second, my rear defroster doesnt work, not one little bit. what could be the issue?

Well, yes...it could be that the shock sensor is toast. It could also just need some sensitivity adjustment. Most aftermarket alarms have the shock sensor built in to the main module so you'll generally find an adjustment screw on the side of it somewhere. The good news is that a small adjustment will often take care of the problem. The bad news is that it is relatively expensive to replace because it's not a separate unit - it's the main "brains" of the alarm.
If you can program the alarm to turn off the shock sensor that should take care of the problem even if the sensor is faulty. Many aftermarket alarms allow you to add external sensors so if you can turn off the internal one you can add an external one to replace it. In fact, you can easily connect the GM factory shock sensor to most aftermarket alarms. You just have to remember to reverse the green and blue wires - the factor sensor uses them opposite to what aftermarket systems do.
There are a number of reasons that your defroster might have stopped working. If your power seat doesn't work either then it's likely the circuit breaker is worn out. Replace it with a 30-amp fuse to fix that (the fuse will plug right in to the spot the circuit breaker comes out of). The next most common problem is a broken connector where the wires connect to the grid on the back window. You could fix that yourself but it is a fairly delicate soldering job and dealers will often do it for just a small fee so you might want to just let them do it. After that the most common problem is the timer portion of the switch. The really bad news is that the switch/timer isn't available as a separate part - you have to buy the whole HVAC control panel for $200. If that's the problem you may want to get one from a junk yard.

i think tomorrow im going to turn off the shock sensor.
then take the power seat works so that cant be it. and ill take my car up the road to check the defroster.
