Help needed on how setup my system. (4) Alpine SPS-17C2 6.5 speakers (250 max 50rms)
(1) 10" sub in a stealth box on the driver's side my choices on a sub are
Alpine 10" Dual-Voice-Coil 4-Ohm Subwoofer SWR-1042D 1500w (500rms)
Infinity 10" Dual-Voice-Coil 8 Ohm Subwoofer REF1052W 1000w (250rms)
I really want clean and responsive bass so not sure which one is better for that. Should I get a 4 channel amp for the 4 alpine speakers (like a 200 watt)?
will the alpine sub be too much for the stealth box? will my battery be able to handle 2 amps if I run the 1500w alpine? I am really thinking of only running one mono amp to the sub anyway because I am not going to run two batteries. A freind of mine said not to amp speakers if they are aftermarket- don't know why he said that. Any and all info is appreciated.

First of all I don't know why your friend told you that but he's wrong. A four channel amp for the mids and highs is great. I go with the Alpine due to the fact you can bridge it down to 2 ohms which your amp should like just fine. You don't need 2 batteries to run 2 amps or even a high output alternator if you use the proper wiring kit which should consist of at least 8ga preferably 4ga power wire and the equivelant ground. Please keep in mind that your sub is not really 1500watts. Just because Alpine put that on the back of it or on the box doesn't mean anything. Real wattage numbers are rms and most companies fudge that too. Your sub is about 50-300watts rms and real peak is around 900watts if your lucky!! Your stealth enclosure will be fine for a type-S. The stealth enclosures are all about .6-.7 cu.ft. of airspace. Your sub requires .65-1.0 so your fine. Running a 4 channel with about 30-40watts x 4 rms and a nice 300-500watt class D mono amp would sound great.
