Sub woofer/Amp wiring help
Also, I hope I'm not digging to deep for the original poster, but the impedance curve for the subs in an enclosure over the freq spread will change. It may go lower then 4 ohms and higher for sure. I will never warranty nor really recommend wiring up an amp in 1 ohm if it's rated for 2 ohms, but I'm pretty sure the amp can handle since it won't really be playing in the 1 ohm area for sure. But you just never know unless you actually measure the impedance using a singal generator and ohm meter. It all has to do with Zo for the final amp stage. (engineer will recognize what Zo is)
If the output resistance is too light, you risk over saturating the circuit and that will burn out the components in line. Basically breaking the amp.
If you want to learn even more....But it's advanced info in this link. Might be over alot of peoples heads here unless they've done some electronic class in college or maybe high school even!?

Just wire it up at 4 ohm like we've suggested. You don't even need more power than the amp makes at 4 ohm, so there is no worry about getting a lower impedance to get more power from the amp.
