tranny temp guage doesnt work

tranny temp guage doesnt work i hooked everything up to the guage properly nothing is touching that shouldnt be
when i start the car the guage needle moves slightly because power is going into the guage but aftera a 40 min drive at 60 + the needle doesnt move at all. if anyone has a clue as to what my problem is please help me

I have an A4, and I went with the Autometer Eletric Trans Temp gauge. Theres only 3 wires, so it would be nearly impossible to not get it right.
One wire goes to a 12v ignition source. One goes to ground, and the other one goes to the temp sender. I screwed my temp sender into the test port on the drivers side of the transmission right above the shift linkage.
Thats all there was to it.

Re: tranny temp guage doesnt work If one of the wires doesn't have a good connection that could be your problem or maybe your gauge is defective. I recently had a problem with a defective gauge that made me almost go insane. hope that helps
