question about drivers side speaker in 96 t/a

question about drivers side speaker in 96 t/a The red and black wire that ran to this circuit board thing next to the speaker, the connections were corroded and weak... I literally tugged on the wire and they broke. So I cleaned the wire up, and soldered it on the opposite side for a good connection, but now my speaker still does the same thing, it doesnt work till i crank it up a bit louder... then it cuts out randomly.
If i buy new speakers, will it come with this circuit board thing? or am i screwed?

Do they work without the circuit board "thing"...as in hooking up the speaker without the circuit board...try hooking the speaker up the wires leading TO the circuit board and see what you get. If you get sound then no problem...just get a set of aftermarket components and use the supplied crossovers that they come with. I am assuming the circuit board is a passive crossover. thank you. I will take it apart again and post some pics to show you what im talking about. I have NO idea on sound systems
