Default Which optima batt?

T/a wouldn't start after class today so figured if it turns out bat. is bad I'll go ahead while I have the money and get a optima. I wasn't sure if I should get red or yellow. I'm assuming a red would fit me fine since I do not have a system and if I ever do it will not be anything big. Any 2nd opinions?

It's not the size of the system that matters (or so I've been told)

The primary difference between the red top and the yellow top is that the yellow top is a deep cycle battery. That means it's designed to handle frequent discharges without loss of capacity - in other words, you can run accessories (stereo or whatever) for longer without the engine running and the battery will recharge without damage. Normal usage (only occasionally running stuff with the ignition off) calls for getting a red top which has more cranking amps for daily use.

Yeah get the red top. I would say get the yellow one if you have a full audio set up. But since you don't the red one will be just fine.

I agree, since you have no plans of any kind of aftermarket system, a red top will do just fine.

I went through the same thing earlier this year and ended up with the red top. Like everyone else has said, unless you plan on playing your stereo for extended periods of time with the engine off, the red top is what you want.
