Problem with key cylinder??
Now that its all back together, everything operates normally, except when I shut the car off.
I'll remove the key, and open the door. The SECURITY dash light comes on, the radio continues to run, the windows still operate, and the power locks wont let me lock the car...
I've found a way around the problem but i'd still like to fix it correctly. Everything shuts off like it should when:
1) I re-insert the key, turn it to JUST before RUN, then turn it back to OFF and remove the key.
2) I just jiggle the key cylinder without the key inserted. Sometimes the radio and security light come back on after doing this, so i always try turning the key first.
My first thought was that the PCM from the car i swapped with for the T56 conversion was not communicating with my cars body control module.
My second thought was that i might not have something hooked up.
My third thought was that it might be related to how i had to wire the clutch switch, but that was just a wild guess and probably isnt the problem.
My final and best guess is that i need to replace the key cylinder.
What do you guys think?
TIA,
Cody
