Good Window motor??
The original / OEM style design is all steel. The newer design has a cast aluminum body shell combined with steel. I work in automotive supply and I can tell you, there are very few reasons to make an all new design in the aftermarket.
Logically, the new design must have been generated either due to poor quality of the old design (which we know) or for lower production costs. I do not feel the new design is cheaper. I actually think it would be more expensive to produce.
So my feeling is that you should try to find the cast body motors. It is a newer design and should be less vulnerable to moisture/corrosion wear.
IF you have ever done a replacement before you know its a pain, and i certainly wouldn't wanna do it over again any time soon. Id say spring for the one thats a little more expensive and do it right the first time. Better yet, buy the windowfix from autotrix (sponsor) and do it the same time you replace your motor, and youll be happy for a long time. It will extend the life of your new motor with better voltage coming directly from the battery.
