Whinning..

My car only has 4 speakers in it right now plus the 2 subs, 2 amps and a cap.. Well when I turn my car on the speakers whine and when i would step on the gas peddle the whine would get louder.. I take it there is a interference somewhere but I have no idea even where to start and look....

Anyone know?

Noise from the alternator.

Try regrounding your amps and HU.

also make sure your rca's dont cross power or ground

Gm has Really bad factory grounds, reground the Headunit.

Where would you suggest to ground it?

Also here is a diagram of my system is wired up.. I really need to fix this because it is annoying as hell! lol

Could this problem be because my alternator is bad? Because I am starting to experience different problems that point to it..

My car did this bad last year, then I put in the Trex and I cant even hear the ******* radio, yet alone the whin noise. So a bigger cam could solve your problem.

You could try grounding your head unit to the floor. It might be better if your amps aren't grounded to the same point, but i'm not sure if that would cause noise or not. Also what type of head unit is it? Pioneers have a microfuse in them that blows every once in awhile and it tries to ground through the rca's. If you could switch it out for another one that would be good.

I had this problem once upon a time...I tried regrounding the head unit to four different places, all various distances away, and nothing helped. I dug up the wiring (I had someone else install my sub - BIG mistake), and found the RCAs were running right next to the power wire.

I personally fixed it by running the power down the passenger side (straight off the battery), and the RCAs down the driver's side. No issues since this change, and I've had two alternators **** the bed on me in the meantime.
